The more I think of the Spanish train bombing, the more scared I get.

A terrorist attack in October, or even a 9/11 reprise, would galvanize support behind Bush.

And I can see the current administration knowing this. After all, accidents will happen. Even if they have to be arranged. Especially then.

Yes, I am flat-out saying that I think our current governing body is ruthless enough to stage a terrorist attack, take American lives and use it as a shameless ploy to garner votes.

Remember me when something blows up around Columbus Day. And know that it wasn't Iraqi, or Al-Queda or the Army of the 32nd of July, but our own loving Compassionate Conservative God-Fearing government.

And in case I don't say it often enough (and in case this ends up on the DoJ desk), I love all y'all.

Yep -- been thinking it for ages. His poll numbers were up over fucking 90% after Sept 11th. They have already allowed thousands to be killed and wounded, many of them our own damned people, who swore to defend the Constitution. They are the ultimate evil -- more of a threat to world peace than Hussein could ever be. The more I think about it, the more I wonder if this isn't what the people on board those hijacked airliners felt -- crazies were at the wheel and they just hoped they'd all be alive at the end of the day. *sigh*

I know what you mean. And you know, even if it doesn't happen, it's truly pathetic when the government gets so bad that we're thinking like that. It's like when Paul Wellstone's plane crashed -- everyone I know was thinking the same thing, and just the fact that everyone was thinking it says volumes about how screwed up our government is. (Then there's the actual question of what *did* happen, too...)

Looking on the bright side, 9/11 got more or less blamed on Clinton, since it happened in Bush's first year. If something blew up now, wouldn't that undermine Bush's image as the one who's locking up all the terrorists in Guantanamo?

I'm with you there. I've been suspicious all along.
