Attention!

This is a test of the video feedback alert system. Had there been an actual video link in this post, that is, new content at http://home.ipa.net/~rsparrow ,there would be comments in the comment section as opposed to a pacing Mudd saying "Any word yet?"
Repeat, this is only a test. Please go back to your viewing.

OK, so I'm whining. I see half a dozen people downloading my vids on a nightly basis, and I've heard nothing. Is it always this thankless? or do my vids just suck? (The one piece of feedback I've had, other than [livejournal.com profile] jkb's comment, was rather negative: obscure song choice, lack of character set up, etc. Tht vid is under reconstruction)

it's pretty much thankless. I've done a few vids--I think three, to be precise, and they're posted on a webpage and listed in the Smallville Video Archive. The page has gotten a little over eight hundred visits, god knows how many downloads, and not one single comment.

Where the hell are they? I'd like to see `em.

My ONE SINGLE vid apparently got a good deal of third-person comment, but I didn't get any comments from anyone but a few LJ friends. *shrug*

I still need to find a place to put the damned thing UP. Ran out of space on my shell.

Thing is, I can't watch the one I downloaded. My players are all in a riot against me. Only one agrees to work at this point, and it can't read avi files. The others either complain about missing dll files (and won't recognise them if I try to replace them) or simply freeze and take my compy with them.

So I thought it would sound stupid coming out to say, "Uh, the file name is nice, it looks good in the folder of other video files I can't watch."

I've been waiting for an opportunity to borrow my sister's compy to watch it, but so far I haven't been lucky.

See, technical problems! This is the sort of thing I need to know about. (I think Mudd put up a link to Divx Codec since most of ours require that. If not, I'll pester him to do so.)

Mudd's vids are first, mine are a little lower. Read and heed notes, as always. (Some are just tests) You may need the Divx codec.

fortunecity.com will host up to 50 M of stuff and unlimited bandwidth.

I'll have to see if I can find it. I don't actually have any SV vids at the moment.

Couldn't find any link to codecs in that page, no. But the problem is probably not with your file, but with my players (or with my slowly decaying compy), since I'm not getting to watch videos I used to be able to see not so long ago. (Ironically, the problems started after I installed one of Windows security patches...)
