Hypericon!

It was a really excellent convention.

I had good panels. One on editing, a couple on writing sex (one SF, one fantasy), one on Discworld.

And I did the Iron Artist panel. The audience picked the topic "Scary astronomical dragons"
There were five artists and me.
I crocheted a dragon in 90 minutes. Some of the fastest crochet ever.

Sales were good. The cocktail party was a blast, as was seeing the Underlords. Been forever since I saw Dana. Hypericon does an excellent con-suite.

Tommy Hancock of Pro Se was looking all right, moving a little slower than usual, after a heart attack a couple weeks ago.

Stephania Grimm was there, and held up quite well. Her husband used to head Hypericon. He died suddenly in December.

Brian Cooksey is a lovely person. And there were hugs from any number of folks including David Blaylock and Jen Mulvahill.

Herika Raymer managed to hold her own on the querying and submitting panel with me and Gabriel, which is a feat, as we were both very "on" this weekend.

Had a most interesting visit with Stephen Zimmer. He's deeply amused that I not only shot him, I felt the need to decapitate him and burn his body in his lab. (in Terror of the Frozen North)

Got better acquainted with Amy Herring, and I owe her an email on SF sex toys in movies (specifically Logan's run). 8)

And best of all, I came home energized, and ready to write. I want to make beautiful crochet SF items and hang them in the art show. I want to write books. I acquired two more conventions, which will make third quarter look better for sales. Along with the idea of moving our shopping cart to Square Marketplace and not paying out the nose for our website.

All in all a successful weekend. The look on [livejournal.com profile] reannon's face when I said I had a tattoo was priceless. The gape when I showed it to her was even better.
