Visiting teachers
Oct. 3rd, 2016 07:45 pmI am a devotee of Hera. But my goddess has been distant and aloof lately. This is not atypical of her personality and even more s since I came out trans. She really doesn't like men much.
Hermes loves me. He delights in my new identity, since he is a master of changing faces himself. He has been making love to me again, allowing me to write.
But of late, Thoth and Ganesha have been demanding I pay attention to them.
Neither are my pantheon, but both seem to be cropping up everywhere I look.
I have been advised to treat them as "visiting faculty" and learn what they want to teach me. I'm hesitant because I am not of the regions where these gods hold sway. I have no ancestry in the area. Then again, I'm not Greek either as far as I know. But the gods of Ireland never took me up. Hera and Hermes did.
Now, if these other ones want me, for a season or forever, who am I to say no to their lessons?
I need new statues for the altar...
