This is one of my favorites. My paternal grandmother used to make this all the time.

Makes Own Crust Coconut Pie
4 eggs
1 3/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. flour
1/4 c. melted butter
2 c. milk
1 1/2 c. coconut
1 tsp. vanilla

Combine in vertical order. Mix well. Pour into greased 10" pie pan. Bake 350° for 45 minutes, until golden brown.
A few chocolate chips melted over the to change this treat into something else amazing: a Mounds pie.

A favorite hand pie. Gotten off a postcard for a Lowry's contest years ago. I also like to lay the crescent rolls out in a ring, fill it and fold it over.

Aussie beef pies
1 lb ground beef
1 pkg. frozen spinach, thawed
1 onion
1 jar (2.5 oz) sliced mushrooms
3 Tbsp. ketchup
1 1/2 tsp. Lawry's seasoned salt
2 8 oz cans crescent rolls
1 egg, beaten

Brown beef, drain. Add spinach, onion, mushrooms, ketchup and seasoned salt. Blend well. Saute 5 minutes.
Remove from heat and set aside. Unroll crescent roll dough and separate into 4 rectangles. Smooth perforation to
seal. Repeat with remaining dough. Place generous 1/4 c. filling on each rectangle. Fold dough over, seal with
fork. Brush tops with beaten egg. Bake, uncovered 350° for 15 minutes, or until golden brown. Serves 8

The music and pictures are in a previous post, because this one is very long. Each Friday,
I'll post out one of my paranormal short stories.

Tuition Fees is collected in Into Dark Waters ebook from Inkstained Succcubus. Paperback is also available.

Enjoy!

Originally written for Torquere's Arcana line, a set of stories based on Tarot cards. This was, of course, The Devil. We pulled the card and Angel had the idea of the Scholomance, so we ran with it. It's not exactly Brimstone fanfiction, but we really can't help the resemblance.

Christian McIntosh set his carry bag down in the courtyard of Teufelsteinschloss and lit a clove. He couldn’t believe he was actually here, that all this wasn’t a dream. He’d received the invitation letter along with the other art school acceptances. It wasn’t until he went back over the papers that he realized he’d never applied to The Academy.

Tuition Fees, continued.

The great portrait hall of the schloss changed for each student. Marcelo and Geoffrey had learned this as they compared notes with Nick. Nick’s Machiavelli and Washington were replaced by Pasteur and Curie and Calvin and Loyola as befit the situation. Marcelo in particular found the hall conducive to meditation.

“Don’t let me disturb you.”

He had heard the deliberately heavy step behind him. “Good morning, professor. I spoke with Loyola for a minute.”

Morgenstern smiled. “Yes, Ignatius was one of my better pieces of work. I understand why you would speak to him and not,” he strolled down the line of pictures “let us say, Luther.”

And now, the conclusion of "Tuition Fees"

Chris eyed his new roommate with suspicion. Marcelo was nice enough, he knew, but he wasn’t sure why the professor had him in the room with the theologian. He hung up his clothes and watched Marcelo finish praying.

“Our teacher has a sense of humor, Christian,” Marcelo said. “I will not bite. The worst I do is leave my socks about and mumble a great deal.”
