supernatural musing on the trickster

The trickster. His tricks always have lessons. Sometimes fatal ones, but SAMs totally has a purpose and lesson:

1) it inures him to Dean's coming death. After 100+ of them, he will handle the real one.

2) it lets him see the path he might take after Dean dies, and warns him off it. Because that is a grim and ruthless Sammy, terrifying. I expected him to go get the scumbag who shot Dean and bring him in to exsanguinate for the summoning.

Tricksters are difficult deities, especially if they like you. I should know, I've been there with them. Poor Sam, he doesn't know how to handle a god with a point to make.
