Media: House on Haunted Hill (1959) I'd seen the remake, with Geoffrey Rush and James Marsters. This was MUCH better. Vintage Vincent Price hamming it up as a millionaire with a greedy wife who offers people $10,000 to spend a single night in a haunted house.

Crafting: wedding afghan nearly done

IS: wrote story calls for the next year and a half. Start sharpening your word processors, we have some good ones. There's the companion piece to Dominant Tendencies, a couple of straight BDSM anths (one male dom, one fem dom), a horror anthology, a Sword and Sorcery anth (any pairing), and an action adventure anth.

Every October, I designate one week as vampire week here at the Den.

31 Day Challenge
12. How you act when watching a scary movie

It varies depending on how into the movie I am. I could be shouting "Stupid! You are too stupid to LIVE! You deserve to be eaten!" at the screen. I could be live-tweeting it. "Look out, Heroic Black Dude!" I could be overanalyzing it: "Since when do megapods range into Iowa?" or I could just be crocheting and following it. If I put my crochet down to watch... Then I'm really into it.

So, today, we kick Vampire Week off with the classic, because Tod Browning is a genius.

Children of the Night scenes from other versions:

Love at First Bite is very hard to come by and I couldn't get video.

And I have a deep affection for this version:

And because Hammer had no sense, Christopher Lee didn't talk in most of his Dracula movies.

Creepy Pics, including several of my now-vampiric daughter:
