A Trip to the Carnival for Thursday

*side-eyes the question* Okay folks, it's going to get religious in here. Skip on to the video if that bothers you.
I am a practicing witch. It takes a great deal out of me to do anything. Witchcraft, as I practice it, is applied will. The Wiccan Rede of "If it harms none, do what you will" informs my practice. "Do what you will." That's HEAVY. That's not permission. That's a command. Know what you will. And then DO it.
You must know what you want and then you must accomplish it. It's very like writing a book. I know many many people who say "I want to be a writer. I have a great story." My response is always "So write it." A year later, I see them again. They don't have a book. They have excuses. They know their will. They have not done it.
Do what you will. By doing the things I focus my will upon, I have written 17 books and 86 short stories. Those did not exist ten years ago. That's over a million and a half words brought into being, created out of thin air, that no one ever did before I did it.
Too many people think witchcraft is bibbity-bobbity-boo and hey presto for instant, impossible effect. It's not. It's simply focused will to create something out of nothingness. Even spells with elaborate ritual do most of that to focus the caster, to get them in the right head-space and make sure they have phrased the request to the universe correctly so that they know where to focus their willpower. This is why many spells include visualization. If you can see the results you want, you're more likely to achieve them.
In short, the witchery I practice looks a lot less like The Craft and a lot more like hard work.
