Managed to get about 1100 words written on the Dominant Tendencies piece.

Subbed out a story for the Cry Wolf reprint anthology.

Not bad for sleeping until 5 PM after coming in at 9 AM.

Watched a lot of season 2 Smallville. I have now seen the infamous Bunny Tea Party scene.
And ZOMG, such a Chloe/Lionel shipper. I know at the end of the cliff-hanger, when she saw Clark and Lana kissing, she went right back to her car, and called Lionel, telling him she;d do the investigation. "Oh no, no, Miss Sullivan. You see, when you've turned down a generous offer the first time, I expect you to prove you really do want the opportunity. Remember what I said about giving to get." And there is Chloe losing her virginity, not to Jimmy Olsen as is Smallville canon, but trading it for a column at the Daily Planet. And she tries to stay very detached about the whole thing, tries not to let him get to her, but Lionel is much older and much wiser, and has a long and extensive list of (canon) ladies, and he won't let her stay calm about this. Meep!

GUH! I haven't been fanficcy like that for a while.

Apparently, this is my only SV icon, still in rotation.
So, I made another one

So anyway, Season 2.
RedK!Clark, Jilted!Chloe, Abandoned!Lana, Pregnant!Martha, Blind!Lionel, Jealous!Jonathan, surprise Luthors, Lex's Chamber of Clark Kent, lots of people dying in front of Clark, Movie'verse cameos and the Lex/Helen "romance."

I am having thoughts, and I'm not really loving the way the girls are portrayed this season. I adore how Chloe and Lana take up for each other, protect each other, and love each other. I hate that Clark keeps getting in the way.

For all that Supes is overgrown boyscout, Clark is a difficult person. He lies, all the time. He steals. He sneaks. I understand the having to hide his identity and abilities part, but he has made a liar out of an essentially honest man (Jonathan) as well. I'm having trouble liking him as much, and most of it is the way he treats Chloe. I watch lots of people die in front of him this season and he seems to be showing the strain, the trauma of it, by the end.

I like the way actions keep having consequences, even quite a ways down the road. The last-season ramblings of a woman convinced Clark was her son set Lex on the trail of finding Lucas, which was a brilliantly intense episode.

Chloe, oh how do I live Icy!Chloe, the one we see in the final ep, bargaining with Lionel Luthor, not as an impressed high schooler, but as a ruthless woman, determined to have what she wants.

I like the edge to Lana, the darkness and strength in her. We don't get to see enough of it, but when we do, whoo boy. She's strong, she's smart. And she has the same ruthlessness about her security as Chloe has about her personal life.

I do not like Dr. Helen Bryce. I have been unimpressed with her all season, not just because she's in the way of Clexing, but because she has been...off. The last episode only proves it. The Kents are wrong to trust this woman.

Also, just for giggles, the voice of Jor-El is Terence Stamp, better known as General Zod in the 80s movies. I am amused.

Next season is Morgan Edge. Yum! Now I just have to get my hands on it.
