State of the Sooky

Had a hideous realization today. I can't use "Worth The Woe" in Adventuresses. It's still under contract.

Found the old lesbian scene that I had to cut from "Eight Days Ablaze" and substituted it. That puts some cyberpunk in instead of more fantasy, and makes the space opera not look so lonely amid all the steampunk.

Work was tough with rain and high winds. I had to get Oli-chan from choir and go to the store in the rain.

So, It's Obi's 17th birthday. Mudd took him out for dinner a couple nights ago and presumably talked about manly things. I had Jonner make him a cake and I put together the purple icing he requested. He says it's been a good one so far.

Mom called. She and Brenda won't be moving because of a variety of complications. My MOTHER needed a Mama Angel moment! *still chuckling* She had walked out and was going window shopping to avoid Brenda and a fight. Second time this week I've taken that kind of phone call.

Did a mockup of the cover for Hard Reboot.



That's just a rough, with bad photo maniping. The original will be much better. And that is Obi wearing lenses. He'd just had his eyes dilated.

Power in the Blood. The Vampire Apocalypse comes to Memphis, wrapped in media and carrying a cross.


Adventuresses, a lesbian short story collection, including lots of steampunk.


And Clockwork Spells and Magical Bells, a magical steampunk anthology. My offering is a centaur miners' strike.



Sometimes, I even amaze myself.

Having some thoughts on this.

I've been told photo covers are risky.
I've heard that art covers aren't a draw.
I'm hearing everyone is tired of faceless torsos and mantitty.

What do you think?
Assuming you read the genre involved, which cover appeals most?
