A very odd Christmas
Dec. 24th, 2011 10:50 pmWe drove to KC yesterday, with a brief pause in St. Louis to pass off books and goodies.
Today, they let me sleep until 10 AM, and then I went shopping with Mom. Got some really nice shoes and a copy of Stephan King's On Writing at the Thrift store, dinner stuff at Hy vee (So Noisy! The dairy section sounds like a jet engine), lunch at Quiznos, small stuff at Dollar Tree. I put books on her reader. Bun and Oli and Obi went to the mall, and Jonner went with grandpa for a haircut.
Then I scooted back to Dad's and changed, and we went to church. Red Bridge Methodist has built on a lot since I was there. The service was nice.
We came home and Mom came over. We had pasta and cake & ice cream. I don't remember every having my parents together for Christmas. But we did and opened presents.
Dad was pleased with the books and thrilled with the Tullamore Dew.
About to head to bed so I can get up for church with Mom. We're going to my sister's and having hamburgers for dinner.
