Some believe that on Mabon the Horned God takes precedence over the Green Man. I'm one. The Green Man has been hard to find lately, when in May he laughed from every bush and tree. Now, he looks worn and tired, ready to rest. And the woodsmoke drifts on the breeze, as the cotton turns white and the rice hangs golden and heavy and the sumac flares scarlet by the roadside. Let us leap and dance and join the Great Hunt. High Autumn, beloved.

Work: Worky. I twisted my knee getting on the liftgate.

Exercise: 5 miles, not straining the knee.

Kids: Oli wore her moon shirt and pentacle today, as a quiet protest for Meet Me at the Pole.

Media: reading Myths, Rob Knight, ed. Torquere took more chances in the early days.

Writing. Pared "Between Despair and Ecstasy" to 5200 words. Will sub tomorrow. Broke 3000 on pain/pleasure. Need a title for that.

Card of the Day: Page of Cups. Gentle youthful energy, things coming together. Creative endeavors getting started.

Scent of the Day: COTTONMOUTH: Snake Oil with linden blossom, calla lily, passion flower, and narcissus. Very sweet and floral. The Narcissus and lily come through beautifully.

You have biked 351 miles.
You have passed The Last Bridge.
It is 3 miles to the next landmark.
You have 107 miles to reach Rivendell.

They hurried along with all the speed they could make, and after a mile or two they saw the Last Bridge ahead, at the bottom of a short steep slope. They dreaded to see black figures waiting there, but they saw none. Strider made them take cover in a thicket at the side of the Road, while he went forward to explore.
