This was a very different con. No celebs. Minimal programming.

So Jonner and I made the drive to Rolla in excellent time. He's a splendid traveler. I met an old friend and her mom for the book signing. We swapped a book for 2 CDs and she bought a second book. I have Shelleighlah Law CD!

Sold a copy of INTO DARK WATERS as well.

Got into Kansas City about 11:15. Dropped Jonner off at Dad's. reannon's Kiddo had set himself up in a bed on the couch. I understand the TV went off and everyone went to bed. But I headed back to the Hilton Garden Inn to find reannon.

As I headed up to the room, I noticed paople with lots of cake. "Oh, it's Ben and Raymond's Anniversary." So I got set up in my room and went looking for cake.

The Literary Underworld makes one AWESOME room merchant. Draperies and creepy clingys and candles everywhere. We shoulda brought incense...

Found Ben and Raymond's party. kc_risenphoenix was tickled to see me. I met their puppy Sarah Jane. She's half-dauchshund half-yorkie.

reannon had a blow-out on the way to KC, so Saturday morning, after breakfast with my dad, we took her car to Sam's club. Mom ended up picking her up on the way to the con. Mom hung out with us for lunch before she had to go to Kylie's dance performance. She fell in love with Sarah Jane.

I'd have totally sold out of HOWL AT THE MISTLETOE if it was ready. Lesbians were in demand, and I had none.

And there was lisichance! I missed my Lisi! I hadn't seen her since her wedding. She looks great.

Had dinner with the folks and then hung out all evening. It was a lot of fun, even if I did miss the Vaudeville. I got a nice massage.

Sunday, Elizabeth got to see something she never has: me asleep. My work schedule is so weird I'm usually the first one up. She woke me, we ran the room for a while and then took it down. A few rounds of luggage-tetris and the closing ceremonies later, we had her car loaded. Then we got the Kiddo, who had been to church and lunch with my mom. They were off and I got to rest.

We went to Ryan's for dinner, then I fixed Mom's TV/VCR set up and built a book case. Jonner sorted Grandma's DVDs in alphabetical order.

We got out about 9:30 Monday, and were on the road at 10, after fuelling. I had Con Tummy and we stopped a lot. We got home after 8.
