First Page Friday
Oct. 22nd, 2009 06:01 pmWe're trying something new on my Facebook Fan group.
First Page Friday.
This will run from now until the end of the year.
Every Friday, I will post the first page of one of my books.
Readers can comment on it. The comment must be more than "first" or "enter me!"
A random reader will receive a e-book.
At the end of the year, one lucky reader will receive a paperback book bundle. Guaranteed four book minimum, possibly as many as ten. You must comment on ALL First Page Fridays to be eligible.

Of course, now I'm tempted to ban all cameras from my presence for ANOTHER thirty pounds (no reflection on you, Kali love) It's just so damn discouraghing to not SEE progress in the pictures that I see in the mirror. But dammit, 266 is still fat. And 236 will still be fat. And 206 swill be closer to normal.
Geocities preservation question
Oct. 22nd, 2009 08:59 pmSeveral of them, actually, for the older media fen still on my flist.
Would it be a good idea to archive stories housed on Geocities elsewhere as part of a fandom preservation movement, en masse, without asking each indiviual author?
Would it be more okay if people could easily request deletion of the stories they wrote?
Will people request deletion politely and not fly into a fit of rage?
Is it worth any potential backlash to preserve those stories?
