A billboard put up by the Gay & Lesbian Center was vandalized, as in shredded away entirely, because someone took offense that a Marine could be gay.

I'm off to the demonstration to show a public face that we are not intimidated.

Alive on the Inside

We have survived another round of Editing Hell. We wrote Alive on the Inside for NaNoWriMo 2007. We rewrote very hastily when Torquere needed an emergency Turn of the Screw piece. We ended up pulling it from that line-up and I'm glad we did. We rewrote and edited and rewrote some more. And this past summer we submitted to Apex. They filled all their novel slots before they got to us. So, we sent it to Amber Quill, which snapped it right up.

The monstrosity I'm mailing out tonight is 81,000 words of erotic horror, including bad religion, body horror, evil carnivals and straight-up gore. Humor lies cheek by rotting jowl with horror. And if you look at people when they are laughing, it looks like a scream...
