BPAL: Blood Countess and London
Aug. 11th, 2009 05:06 amBlood Countess (Diabolus): Elizabeth Báthory, also called Erzsébet Báthory in Hungarian and Alžbeta Bátoriová-Nádašdy in Slovak, was the Bloody Lady of Hungary. In order to preserve her youth and loveliness, the brutal and incomparably savage countess captured, tortured and slaughtered innumerable young women and bathed in their blood as part of her beauty regimen. Ah, vanity. Corrupted black plum, smoky opium and crumbling dead roses covered by a deceptive veil of Hungarian lilac, white gardenia and wild berry.
Vial: sickly berry, like cough syrup and some lilac
Wet: eww, rotting opium with lilac
Drydown: Opium still there, under flowers. Plum and berry come in after a bit. Still perfumy opium, with lilac and berry under it.
Dry: artificial smelling berries with lilac and rose.
London (wanderlust): Venerable Victorian Tea Rose… twisted, blackened and emboldened with wickedness.
Vial: floral and syrup
Wet: Rose!
Drydown: Roses! More roses. No twisting and blackening here, just bold roses.
Dry: Sweet roses. Fades fast though.
Hairy Toad Lilly (Rappaccini's Garden) Spotty, hairy, purple, sweet!
Vial:seriously sweet lilies, very different than the others
Wet: Lily, purple and sweet. It smells purple. STRONG throw
Drydown: herbal scent, lillies underneath
Dry: Powdery lily. Not as nice as Black lily or Ulalume
Frumonious Bandersnatch: (Mad Tea Party) Bandersnatch musk, redolent of spicy carnations, wild plums and chrysanthemum.
Vial: floral with plums under
Wet: Spicy floral! Plums still there
Drydown: cinnamon mint with some fruity. Very fruity and spicy.
Dry: Spicy plum jam and carnations. I like this.
