Alice (Mad Tea Party): Curiouser and curiouser. Milk and honey with rose, carnation and bergamot.
Vial: honey and rose
Wet: honey, rose and something. Very faint
Drydown: cinnamon-ish honey, bergamot?
Dry: Almost a tea scent. Light florals. Nice but weak. 8 hours later, still sweet, dusty roses.

Bruised Violet Compound: (Doc Constantine's Pharmacopia) Promotes vigor in undeath, and relieves the discomforts and complaints so common to incorporeal spirits! The learned and eminent scholar Alessandro Cagliostro once remarked, “Long experience has taught me to prize Doctor Constantine’s Compounds above all others!”
Crushed violets, red currant, patchouli root, and Spanish moss.

Vial: pale oil mossy patchouli
Wet: patchouli and moss. Patchouli always gets wild on me
Drydown: Moss very strong. Hints of violet (which seldom works on me). Smells kinda like playdough on me.
Dry: wood scent, moss. Patchouli gone. Violets and currents never came out to play. Weird chemistry. Yuck.

Grandmother of Ghosts: (Excolo) Mania, Roman Goddess of the Dead, Matron of Madness, Governess of the Ancestral Spirits, Bestower of Divine Frenzy. Her scent swirls with a high-pitched tumult of laurel, stargazer lily, splintered woods, peony, mandarin and white musk, and is spiked with pale pepper.
Vial: Sharp floral, some wood
Wet: wood and musk
Drydown: flowers showing up more, and pepper. A ritual scent, not a wearing scent, I'm thinking
Dry: settling into a sharp floral. Splintered is a really good word for it. No one note stands out. Kinda powdery and old-lady smelling. Reminds me of Santo Domingo without the tobacco. Meh.

Hellfire (Sin and Salvation): Hellfire, take II, from Sin and Salvation: A scent celebrating Sir Francis Dashwood's Order of the Knights of St. Francis of Wycombe, also known as the Hellfire Club. A swirl of pipe tobacco, hot leather, ambergris, dark musk and the lingering incense smoke from their Black Mass.

Vial: musk and incense and sweet tobacco

Wet: A sharper smell, ambergris?, musk and leather

Drydown: sweet sweet smoke, leather and musk, the ambergris under it all. This smells just perfect. It's a gentleman of a bygone age, maybe real, maybe fantasy.

Dry: dry, woody, sweetly smoky and very very male.

Packing...
is my 1457th favorite thing to do.
It rates somewhere around having a root canal and pedicure by belt sander.

Of the alarums and excursions just this evening:

I can't find my KEYS! (tip over recliner, clean under. tip over loveseat, clean under and inside and reclean front room from inside-junk) Found under vest, 18 inches from my knee.

I can't find my amulet! I need my money mojo! (found)

This basket is all kid clothes. Where are MY clothes? (other basket)

Where's the other boot? I'm too swollen for my dress boots. Angelina Calamity is going to be a rough and ready sort. I need that other battered brown workboot! (under chair)

I can't find my wallet! I left it right there with my phone! (black wallet in darkly shadowed room? I'm looking in the morning)

(and every few minutes, I keep glancing to make sure my phone and keys haven't taken a walk too.)

On the other hand: me in a Old western-cut denim vest with a pocket watch chain? very butch, very right.

eta: and naturally? I hit delete instead of post!
