Cosmic Irony

When I write three novels set in a Balkanized America, I have trouble finding a publisher.

When a Russian professor says the same, he gets Wall Street Journal covering him...

His map postulates six. I broke mine more along regional lines and created ten (I blame Heinlein and the SCA).

The thing is, given current fault-lines in the socio-political structure, I can see it happening. And maybe this time, no war because there's not enough money or troops or even interest in keeping it together.

So, work...

Yesterday was a 5 hour meeting in Jackson Mississippi for all the GM drivers.

The short version: I still have a job. 13 people lost their routes and are being re-assigned. So I feel very very happy.

The longer version: I will no longer be delivering to all the dealerships I've spent a year and a half servicing and building up a relationship with. My new work is much more driving, much less unloading. And it starts at 5 AM. Phhhbbbbbbt.

But, I keep working a job I'm good at, for the same pay and with my health insurance, for the next 13 months, provided GM holds out that long.
