Whew!

Finished the long draft of "Collared Hearts." The little story I struggled to get to six thousand words made it out to 14,400+ without a lot of prodding. Josh and Anthony had lots to say. (for those who like that sort of thing, Josh is another incarnation of the Nick muse, but without being a psychopath)

Now, I get a shower, dress, call the school. I can't decide whether to drive overnight or by day. The weather is going to suck every which way and I have to be in Gary by 7 AM.

Overnight: bad weather, but I get to have dinner at home, get some housework done and get some sleep in my own bed. Then i spend the day at the Super 8

By day: no guarantee I will get there in time to get a motel room. Would rather not camp in the terminal lot. Can see the weather.

Headed out.

Homework's all done.
Dishes are running.
I slept all afternoon.
Wrote about 300 words on the new Sappho's Chest piece.

Did some research on Barbary pirates.
The early 19th century was very exciting:
The Barbary Wars in Morocco and Tunisia (America at war with pirates), The War of 1812, the slave uprising in Barbados in 1816.

Adlai and Nathaniel do indeed live in interesting times...
