valarltd: (writing porn)
So, Star and I ran Kestrel on the Horizon through the first round of rewrites. We're at 50,005 words, and throughly bummed for the nonce. We're no longer seeing errors.

Anyone interested in beta-reading a 115+ page gay pirate epic?
By Labor Day?

Because this one is done. It's time to get it polished and booted out of the hutch so other other plot bunnies can take its place. TQ gets first refusal and then Ellora.

Also, looking for people who know and like SF/dark future to give suggestions on punching up the skiffy in Nikolai. I keep editing and adding but it doesn't seem to be getting much of anywhere. I want to whip it into shape and resubmit to TQ.

Still kicking around on the Holiday story for Ellora. Het is HARD. And this one treads perilously close to RPF, including femmeslash, because our heroine is having sex with Janis Joplin.

"Tuition Fees," my Arcana story for TQ has been submitted.

Current writing projects:
"Burning for 8 days": 10 K words for Ellora, Sept 22
Glad-hands: trucker porn...
Nikolai rewrites \ before NaNo
Finishing Niko-Chan /
Nick & Corban for Nano
Games People Play: 20-40K for TQ, mild kink
Adrien Origin story (vampire, historical)
David Origin (still torn between two approaches)
The Gemini Paradox, once I figure out who is screwing whom: literaly, financially, professionally and otherwise.

And I signed up for [livejournal.com profile] jedi__santa and will sign up for Yuletide.
I'm nuts, but it's a good kind of nuts

You post a topic, list, category, whatever, in my comments section. (examples: "Five Phrases Batman Will Never Say", or "Five Jobs House Wishes He Had" or "Five Things Dean Will Never, Ever Tell Sam"). Then, in a separate post, I'll post the answers to your Top 5 ideas, according to me. Serious or fun!

Pseudonyms

Love 'em?
Hate 'em?

Would you be more likely to buy a book by "Angel" or by "Cynthia Sparks or by "M.A. Raleigh?"

Cynthia Wishom? Cynthia Sparks?
Either of those appeal? What notions do they bring up?

I'm debating wether to use Angel Sparrow or a different pseudonym for my pirate novel.
(Thinking Sparrow might be pushing it, y'know?)
