valarltd: (meadow party)
There will be no debate discussion in this LJ.
I was at work and didn't see them.

I'll just watch Y'all have a good time.

We're home. 4+ hours of walking, with a stroller. My feet hurt.

We got in and saw a puppet show. Even Bunny got a kick out of the talking cow. We saw part of a sea lion show, but Dollface had a potty emergency. The sea lions were pretty good, but very young and still in training. One threw a frisbee and went for depth. The trainer sauid "Whoever fetches that back gets a surprise." When the little girl brought it back to him, he held a fish up for her like he does the sea lions. She gave a wrinkled nose and said "No, thanks."

After the potty, we went to have our pictures made. The kiddos were wicked desperados this year. Dollface was a tiny floozy, Bunny looked like the sort that beats you at poker and then rolls you, And the boys looked like they were the ones who drained that empty bottle of Jack Daniels on the poker table.

Then there was dinner. The kids had Pronto Pups (fresh made corndogs) and I got an gyro. We went through the crafts exhibit.

I took a white ribbon (3rd) in one category. [livejournal.com profile] jkb, you have an award-winning Hanukkah gift! And Bunny took a blue ribbon with her gingerbread house!
We squeed a great deal. One of my co-workers took third in a photography category with a picture of a white horse.

We couldn't find her candle, or my child's hat.

My baby afghan didn't ribbon, but it was prominantly displayed, and one lady stared and stared and muttered "how'd she do that?" I told her "Google for 'pinwheel star.' That will bring up the pattern i used."

We played on Tom Sawyer Island (a playground area). Then we hit the Little Buckaroos Barn. The kids petted a baby bunny, roped a steer, milked a cow, rode a tractor and rode stick horses through a maze.

Another potty emergency cut things short. So, we went to the Science exhibit. They loved it. Lightening balls, light organs, touch boxes, giant bubbles, balance meters, smell testers. But it was noisy and hard to chase all four. So we left.

My feet hurt like a booger. I have a sour tummy. I spent too much money. But buying drinks and taking them in with us in the stroller was brilliant. We refilled the bottles with water, and drank comfortably all evening.

It was good fair, even if I couldn't afford a ride (most took 2-3 $1 tickets, That's $8-12 per ride for my crew.)

Next year, we start in June. As soon as Media West is over.
