Various and sundry

OK, so maybe "Good run of Bad Luck" has been supplanted. I'm running very partial to Faith Hill's "Let's go to Vegas" for a multifandom wedding vid, gay, straight, slash and het.

So, with that in mind, do any A-Team fans on my flist happen to know which ep it is where Murdock ends up in the veil?

Ah, the weekend is upon me. Tomorrow is field day, so I'm packing the cooler, the thermos jug and the lawn chairs into my Great Big Red Wagon (the sucker is 3'long) and Dollface and I will slather on sunscreen and go watch the big kids run races.
I'll take my crochet so I actually accomplish something.

I must sew this weekend and no two ways about it.

I will NOT eat the third and fourth blueberry turnover tonight. Won't won't won't!

So, field day.

Obi did great for the obstacle course. Jonner is Leapfrog champ of the Kindergarten. And Bunny. Oh dear Bunny. She was winning the obstacle course, doing beautifully. Then she fell. Hard. And her classmates did not groan and blame her. They dashed over to be sure she was OK. Things like that give me hope. Some of them helped her up, others hugged her.

OTOH: I read the news and am puzzled by the expressed surprise. It's war. What do we actually expect people to do? Feed the prisoners turkey and dressing and tuck them in with stories? Hardly. It's not right, it's brutal and wicked. But torture is the way of war, Geneva Convention or no. History alone teaches that. And psychology teaches that people given absolute power over another invariably abuse that. We should condemn it, but I don't think we should be surprised.

I think it's actually a good sign the torture shocks and horrifies us. I'm not sure if it means we're more civilized than we once were or we're just more squeamish.
