Bad dreams
Mar. 4th, 2004 01:38 pmOK, so I was dreaming. but dang, i have a horror of falling.
We'd gone to MWC, mom, all 4 kids and me. I have no clue why. Mom thought she was taking the kids to Worlds of Fun (a KC amusement park), which was attached to the hotel. Which is in Lansing. OK, No clue.
So, Bunny and I went to find our room. Number 503. No, 507. No 530. it kept changing. There was this open atrium with a balcony around it. Rooms lined the balcony, but there were more on the back hall. I found 503 on the back hall, which already had a pair of Darth Maul fans in it.
Number 530 was on the atrium. on the section of baclony that was 18" wide. With no rail. And sloped sharply toward the 5 floor drop into the lobby. Vertigo attack. Were it not for some help from a pair of Stargate fans, I would have slid right down onto the marble and probably broken my neck. Helluva a way to kick off a con.
We took it up with hotel management and got a ground floor room. And a complimentary dinner, at the $22/plate buffet.
I woke up still shaking from the near fall.
In writing news: Luke Skywalker, Butcher of Yavin.
And golden Flake Hot & Crunchy cheese curls are icky. Just sayin'.
Started Bunny's skirt for MWC. Well, washed the fabric.
