What is your guaranteed squick when you're reading fic?
Parent/child het. Far too much badness. I can deal with the slash (esp if it's unknowing incest) but the het gets into all sorts of icky Freudian stuff.


Name an actor or actress you can't slash without quicking.

I haven't found one yet.

Name a song that you can't stand to see used for a songvid -- it just doesn't work, there are too many done to it or for whatever other reason.

Since I've not seen that many songvids, I can't say what's overdone. But I do know I never want to see one to "Have you Forgotten" or "Courtesy of the Red White and Blue"

What is your biggest pet peeve with con hotels? (any con, any hotel)

Name something about fandom on livejournal that gets on your nerves?

Nothing so far. The friending/defriending getting taken too seriously.
I've been defriended recently. OK, so I'm not interesting to where that person is currently at. I'm cool.
If I friend you, it only means I find your journal interesting enough to want to have delivered to my page daily. If I defriend you, it means we've drifted apart in interests. If you've friended me and I haven't friended you, it's probably just that I'm not interested in what you're currently writing about. I'm flattered you find my petty obsessions interesting, and I'll keep checking back to see if we've converged in interest.

More fun than I can stand

So we went to the MidSouth Fair
Whee!

I bought a Fun Pack, which was $25, and gave us 6 admissions, $10 in ride money, a free turkey leg with purchase of 4, and a free cotton candy with puchase of 3.
(Saved us about $15 all told, and I sold 2 of the admissions for $5 to a couple coming in)

We went and ate first. The Turkey legs were done with a spicy dry rub and just really good. But they were too much, so we picked the meat off, rolled it in foil and took it along. When the boys were hungry half an hour later, I had food.

Then we rode the Tilt-a-whirl. Dollface was unimpressed. She fussed though the whole thing, all scared. The kids threw darts at Spongebob, and each got a stuffed smiley face (it was worth the $1.25 each. they're all very pleased)

We wandered the midway.

We checked out the craft exhibits. Bunny squeed over the quilts, and we all had to see Fairy's cake. She did a really nifty castle.

We had old-time pictures made. I'll put them up after i get them scanned. I look quite the matriarch. Jonner's the one holding a rifle in the pic. yyeah, just the kid I want to give a firearm to...

We got cotton candy

We caught part of a Loretta Lynn concert. The lady is failing in health and her pipes are going. She tried, but she didn't sound good.

We hit Merlin's Cave, which was a science exhibit. Nail wall, Bernouilli stream, touch boxes, light harp. Bubble cauldrons. Lots of fun.

We saw the baby chicks in the ag building.

And I bought pop at CBU where it was $1/bottle and 60c/can as opposed to $2.50/bottle

All the fun we could stand.

The kids also informed me of Halloween costume choices:
Bunny wants to be a carrot.
Obi wants to be a skeletal warrior
Jonner wants to be a Wiggle (the yellow one)
Dollface wants to be a fairy

I can do that!

And now a bath and bed!
