So the kids are packed off to Vacation Bible School at first Baptist.
Gratuitous Ray Stevens Interlude )
Need to find out when Cavalry Baptist and the Methodist church are running theirs. It's free, fun for them, and gives Dollface some one-on-one Daddy time. (he took her to Rhodes College today)

I forgot my lunch. Bummer. I have change enough for a small bag of chips.

Had some inspiration today. For some reason, I want to write the closure to The Mud Dwarf's "A Corellian in Hell."
This is good. I haven't been inspired to write for some time.

And I have most of my Christmas exchange squares done. That's a GOOD thing. The Fisherman's Ring pattern looks better in the Victorian with a claret colored inner ring and dark sage outer on aran, but not bad in the Traditional (cherry red and paddy green on white).
The Pinwheel Star looks fabulous in both.

Must finish basic exchange squares and the cross-stitch squares for Friday mailing.

Stupid Quote of the Day. From the Yorkshire Post: Dr. Smith is associated with societies for the prohibition of cruel sports, recorder playing and Welsh folksongs.

Aww

Dollface and her daddy just stopped in to see me.
She bounced into my arms and announced "My Toria, Jonnan and Issafer go on bus!"

She told B. how many she was, and her name "Oilia Madin"
(She'll get the other letters in there soon)

They're off home because VBS will let out soon.

A kink

Eyeliner.
Pretty boys in eyeliner with long hair and too much makeup.

It's all David Bowie's fault. Labyrinth. Or maybe Tim Curry's. Hells, maybe just the fact I came up in the 80's. Eurythmics, Culture Club, Duran Duran. Genderbending during the years of emerging sexuality.

This is probably why I can sit through the Holiday Special without too much cringing. Eyeliner!Luke is a beautiful thing, and one of the first pictures I will draw when I am decent with the art.

Alpha children all wear grey. They have to work very hard because they're so frightfully clever. I'm glad I'm a Beta...

So I have Clark Kent (who has just been thrown out) and Luke Scaitch Walker (who has run away from his home on a farm north of Gothenberg NE to avoid another beating) sitting in Denny's on East 87th street in Kansas City. At 7 AM.

Throw in a kidnapped Lex, an exotic dancer who bears a strong resemblence to a certain late, lamented (in this AU) action movie star, and the Remillard Institute for Metapsychic Studies at Dartmouth and I am lost in a hellish morass from which not even a Sam-I-Am necktie can save me!

More monkey-crack my way, please, because I suspect I need it.
