Bunny finished her book project. I hope she does well on the AR test. She didn't seem to get Return to Bitter Creek. I understood it all too well. It had a very late 1970's sensability. It's the sort of book that would have been on the restricted shelf in Jr. High: a little bad language, an unconventional family situation. She also didn't understand why David being Iranian was such a problem.

I'm not raising her right. She couldn't understand the problem of Campbell and David not being married.

And we strung a treasure necklace: glass beads, soapstone beads, coppper beads, a few coins and such. Will print her a picture of the original treasure necklace for her display.

Where is all my SCA stuff?!?!?
I can't find anything except a couple of tunics! I need the dress pins and penannular brooches!

So, finishing work on the display and a pinewood derby car and we're set.

Dad gave me a 2 week reprieve. He got called to Atlanta for this weekend, so he'll be down over Valentine's. Dollface announced "I gam-pa's valatie." So cleaning can be more thorough than we'd planned.

I missed the alarm this morning and awakened when I should have been leaving. I yelled so much Obi-Chris was in tears.
Dollface insisted "I can't" every time she had to do something.

And the player wouldn't read my music CD, so I had to listen to inane morning-show chatter all the way to work. 7 different stations and I think I heard 1 song. "Proud Mary," of course, which I loathe. I was only 15 minutes late but there in time to open up.

Now I've been stuck at the reference desk 20 minutes longer than usual because my boss isn't here either. She's waiting for a dishwasher repair. I knew that would be the case.

Just a day in the life.

No cool fannish stuff this AM.
I need more caffiene.

I figured out why i managed to lose 12 lbs in 2 weeks, other than stress:

I halved my lunchtime caloric intake, and cut my morning by 1/3 to 3/5. And almonds (protein fiber and trace minerals) have to be better for me than poptarts and coke, while deli turkey and cheese is better than a TV dinner (fewer preservatives and lower fat).

Another 30 and I'll start to look like I'm losing.

Husband starting to seriously consider leaving high school teaching. He would teach at the local uni and go full-time at the casino. We would save about $900/mo in child care, which is almost half his school pay. And his stress levels would be seriously reduced.

I know he's had a bad day when i find him muttering "Alpha children all wear grey. Think grey thoughts. Think grey thoughts. Alpha children all wear grey. Even Epsilons are useful."
