We arrived, alive
Dec. 24th, 2002 05:34 pmI think someone relocated south Missouri to Hoth for the week. 6-10 inches of snow, with 4 more expected today.
The trees were passing fair, the road was a passing nightmare and we were just passing through. A couple really bad skids in the hills, but no accident. My daughter went prematurely grey during the 30 second long one. "With a this way, and a that way, and a this was and a that way." I recovered and we continued. And the jerk on my bumper backed off too.
I pushed it hard, stopping only 3 times in 500 miles. (hard enough for me alone, nearly impossible with kids)
We're here. Mom is improving by leaps and bounds, and was pleased to see us. She's still in rehab, so we took her her present. She'd planned to read FotR, but her pain meds leave her too looped, so a book of Biblical Quilt Blocks (with lots of pretty pictures) should be just her speed.
My chiropractor will have a field day with me when I get home.
But we're here and planning to have a good time.
