I've been pretty lax about posting. Rough week.

Dollface is down with pinkeye. Hubby took her to the doctor today, and is taking tomorrrow off too. (Did I mention he is a rare gem sometimes?)

Thomas did his psycho-kitty routine all over Trouble's ankle this morning. So, get the blood off the kid, the carpet and the clothes, and we were out the door.

My diet proceeds. I guess. I was sick all weekend, and was down to 235. I'll weigh in tomorrow morning. Tired of eggs and coldcuts already. I'm doing modified Atkins, something more akin to the Carbohydrate Cravers. I get carbs at one meal, but no sugar. That's killing me. I HATE diet soda. And the 2 flavors I do like do not go with the hardboiled eggs I eat for breakfast.

Craft fair in 1 week. GACK! I think I can get the afghan done. It's about half finished.
It's a gorgeous off-white lace affair.

You are 53% geek
You are a geek. Good for you! Considering the endless complexity of the universe, as well as whatever discipline you happen to be most interested in, you'll never be bored as long as you have a good book store, a net connection, and thousands of dollars worth of expensive equipment. Assuming you're a technical geek, you'll be able to afford it, too. If you're not a technical geek, you're geek enough to mate with a technical geek and thereby get the needed dough. Dating tip: Don't date a geek of the same persuasion as you. You'll constantly try to out-geek the other.

Yep. Going to UMR kinda does that to one. At least I don't start jokes with "There were these two negatively charged hydroxyl ions..." I do tell Viking jokes on my imaginary grandfather, Olaf Thorvaldson. (my bio grandfather, HJ, was a bus driver and a mail carrier in Kansas City)

How Obsessive Are You Over
Buffy?

That's about right. I once watched 6 straight hours of Season 2 Buffy. I was embroidering on an all-nighter.

11 Strength
This is about all those wonderful virtues of strength, willpower, compassion, patience, courage and fortitude, but like all the cards, can just as well represent the opposite; cowardice, fear, inertia, defeat, loss of opportunity.

Strength can suggest the rapid recovery from illness or the right time to give up those bad habits.

It's a great card to pull if you're struggling with a situation, as it represents the energy of having the mettle to see things through.

For this, I get an image of Luke on Dagobah, standing on one hand, Yoda on his foot, lifting the crates. He has mastered the skills through willpower, patience and courage. Yet on Dagobah he also faces fear and defeat in the Tree, and loss of opportunity is about to strike when he leaves.

12 The Hanged Man
He usually represents a time of feeling in limbo, being stuck or being prevented from moving forward.

He's usually depicted hanging upside down with his hands tied - that's just what it feels like!

We need to remain flexible and willing to let go of things, it's probably a time for sacrifice.

Another Luke card, this time hanging from the Cloud City weathervane. (I know, I know, cliche)
He's stuck, upside down and must be willing to let go of all he knew to be true, sacrificing his ideals of a father, and his images of his teachers.

13 Death
Together with the Devil, this is probably the most feared card in the deck, but it shouldn't be. It hardly ever points to physical death, and usually suggests merely an ending of something of significance.

Without endings,we don't have beginnings, so one can look upon this card as a card of new opportunity rather than as a card of loss.

Whilst The Death card can represent rather shocking or unexpected events or changes, they usually clear the way for a brand new start and a greater value for life itself.

It's a time of transformation, but again, the flip side can represent stagnation and refusal to change.

This is a hard one. All I'm getting is the image of Vader in the hallway of the Death Star, saber drawn. There he is Obi-Wan's physical death, but Vader himself was a rather shocking and unexpected person. He was not only at the end of his physical self, but received a new start several times: once as a child when he was freed, once after the lava pit, and finally when he was brought out of the darkness.

14 Temperance
The card of harmony, peace, health and compromise.
Negative associations with this card would be the opposite of impatience, lack of foresight, conflict and argument.

Temperance symbolizes self-control and the ability to handle a difficult situation carefully, and so bring about a positive result

It can suggest a wonderful time of harmony, health and enjoyment, and many say the Temperance card can be seen as your guardian angel.

Padme, in the yellow picnic dress, sits in the meadow for this, perhaps holding up a cup of clear water.

15 The Devil
'Playful Pan' is one of the most feared cards in the pack, mainly due to the modern depictions of the Devil being the ultimate evil.

Really, The Devil is more often just the representation of temptation, or the over indulgence of sensual pleasures.

He's also closely associated with the vices: lust, greed, addiction, hedonism.

Not often a positive influence, but he can represent commitment, particularly in relationship, or the fact that the querant is gaining control of a situation.

This would be Palpatine. Perhaps a montage card, half the Chancellor, half the wizened caricature.

16 The Tower
Now here's a card to watch out for - the picture says it all.

Dramatic upheavel, unwanted and unexpected (and often violent) change is depicted here.

Everyone is afraid of this kind of change, but to keep a positive note, it usually turns out to be a blessing in disguise!

The burning Lars homestead. Pretty obvious
