This has been bouncing around for a while in the back of my mind, and I finally decided to do something.

I ran it through Google, and found a couple, but was unimpressed. However, the more I read, the more I think some of the ideas were spot on.

My ideas for a SW Tarot Deck, starting with the Major Arcana. This may be a multipart series.

0 The Fool
It's the start of something new, a new adventure or journey.
Expect excitement, fun and a sense of adventure

The Fool is usually depicted stepping off the edge of a cliff - a leap of faith into the unknown. But he's also looking upwards, full of optimism and kind of carefree.

There is an element of naïveté, thoughtlessness, immaturity, lack of responsibility, impulsiveness or lawlessness to this card though, so be aware of that.

The Fool says, expect the unexpected, go for it, but sometimes the question to be raised here is whether one should look before you leap

I'm going to offend some people with this, but the image that comes up is Luke staring up into the sunset on Tatooine. He's yearning for new horizons, adventure etc. He's optomistic that they will come to him. But he is indeed immature and impulsive at this time in his life.

1 The Magician

The Magician is often depicted as a Juggler with many 'balls in the air'.
He's a great omen for new opportunities, and signifies the ability to handle situations and circumstances with skill and initiative.

There're real creative energies at work when The Magician shows up.

However, he's a bit of a trickster, so watch out for deception or the abuse of power.

This says Old Ben all over it. He is new opportunities for Luke. He handles situations to the point of manipulation, which is both sides of the card.

2 The High Priestess
She's our intuition, our link to the universal consciousness and represents the divine feminine.

She's the guardian of secrets, which can be a positive or negative thing, depending on whether you want to know, keep, share or avoid disclosing them!

Trust your instincts, they're always right, but watch out for emotional insecurity.

I don't know if this would be Leia. The Secret keeping sort of works. It feels more like Shmi Skywalker. She is the one impregnated by midichlorians (a link to the universal consciousness and deliberate Mary configuration). She keeps secrets, and encourages Anakin to trust his feelings. I see her standing, in front of the slave quarters, watching as Anakin follows Qui-Gon off to his destiny.

3 The Empress

The mother of the pack.
She's reassuring, full of love and compassion and a great card to pull if you're considering parenthood.

If taken too far though, the Empress energy can be over protective, stifling and over emotional.

This is Beru. No ifs ands or buts. She is definitely the first mother figure we encounter. Love, reassurance and compassion shine as she mediates between her husband and nephew. She may be a bit over-protective of them both at times.

4 The Emperor
The Big Daddy!

He's all about achievement, authority, protection, support and all those traits typical of the male provider role.

At his best he's honorable and can be a great help at a time when support is needed.

At his worst, he's tyrannical, overbearing, untrustworthy and definitely to be avoided!

While the immediate thought is Palpatine, somehow I get more of a Qui-Gon vibe off the meaning of this card. Honorable, supportive, authoritative, protection, support, etc. But still capable of being tyrannical and overbearing. We see all of this in TPM.

5 The Hierophant
Sometimes called the High Priest, he's the counter part to the High Priestess, but represents the wise man rather than the wise woman.

He's a great teacher, advisor and counsellor and will give good advice even if it's a bit conventional in spirit.

He can represent the feeling of having one's creativity stifled and is not the favourite card of the deck for the more maverick and unconventional of us!

Yoda! Definitely Yoda.
