valarltd | Some days are good days

Most days have a kind of sameness.
Some days are so awful they are etched into nightmare.
(Hitting the deer, the day I almost didn't come home from my run)

And then there are good days, cast like rare jewels amid the base metal of the ordinary.

Today was a good day.

We got the call early.
Mudd has a teaching position for next year.

I got word via facebook my Girl Scout leader and friend had pulled through pacemaker surgery fine.

I got good editing done.

I finished the base draft of Terror of the Frozen North, the next Lord Withycombe adventure. There's polishing work to do, but it's pretty well ready for Amber Quill.

Dinner was really good. I put out the recipe and had the guys make it. Turned out yummy.

Work was about 4 hours. Long enough to be worth it, short enough not to hurt much.

And I am headed to bed, secure in the knowledge I can take what tomorrow throws at me. Because today was a good day.
