We went down on Thursday, getting very little sleep and a very early start.
Hotel check in was without difficulty, but we soon discovered we had a toilet that shrieked at every flush, and a crack in the bathtub.
Instead of setting up the booth, we just hung out. I went to the dungeon for the masque, but it was pretty dead. I enjoyed some music from the Extraordinary Contraptions and went beck to the hotel.
Lengthy talk with Sasha Illyvitch, who desperately wants me to submit for Ardent press.
Friday, we set up the booth. Sales were excellent all weekend, I was all pink and fluffy. Rainbow skirt and pink poet blouse and a dark pink peony in my hair.
11:30 AM The Anthology World. We talked about how anthologies are a great start to writing. They let you commit to a shorter length. They let you explore topics you might not ordinarily do. And we emphasized "READ THE CALL!"
Spent the day at the booth, selling books. Took a turn through the dealer room. There are a few things I want.
One guy was doing electrical demos and
gabrielbelthir encouraged him to lick my neck. Those of you who know me have some idea about how loud the orgasm was. I LOVE electrical...
We ended up set up next
kiernankelly and her always delightful husband. She and I chatted all weekend and I got one sock mostly knitted.
I went to the Cunt and Breast Torture demo which was awesome. I sat on the front row, eeped a lot and got to see a real Pear up close and personal.
7 PM Bedtime Stories. The Club Room almost wasn't big enough for all the people who came. There were about 8 authors and being a veteran of con readings, I started off with the cargo netting scene from Heart's Bounty. One (mixed sex) couple acted it out and our Miho was a very good sport who stripped completely naked for his tiny, female Hevik. I got to do a second bit from "Double Dealing" and another couple acted it out. I also volunteered when no one wanted to, and got to be a sexy dominant man for a lovely girl who looked a bit like the late Natasha Richardson. Several people were a bit surprised when the story called for me to whip my shirt off and I did.
It rained and I slogged back to the hotel. We nipped out to Waffle House for hot food and coffee, and then went home to bed.
Saturday I dressed for LARP, so it was all David all day

10A was Editors and Publishers Tell All, which was a fun panel. We talked about things we love to see, things that drive us to drink and general advice for writers.
2:30: Writing Sex Scenes. this was supposed to be a master-class course. But the teacher had a medical emergency, so several of us took it over. We talked about the responsibility to get things right, about what is hot and what is not. We all agreed there is never an excuse for the phrase "purple helmeted Spartan of Love" even in a parody,
At 4, I moderated Write What You (don't) Know, so I just stayed where I was. It was a good panel, about how can we write SF, fantasy, horror or historicals? We've never sailed a schooner, or flown a space ship or axemurdered someone. The answer was extrapolation and research.
Eight Thrones LARP. This was our second year and it went off brilliantly. Lots of plots, lots of intrigue.
My tarot cards were SCARY accurate.
I got a nice flogging with some single-tail work, visited with a couple of lovely ladies and eventually went to bed.
Sunday was sales day. I wore my Inkstained Succubus t-shirt, sold books and finally packed out the booth at closing time.
It's frightening how many evil plot bunnies a single episode of Dukes of Hazzard inspired... (We watched bad TV that evening)
The trip home was uneventful.
