Still here, safe and sound
Jul. 22nd, 2003 01:20 pmWhat a night.
Huge storms moved through the MidSouth. Most of Memphis is still w/o power. Trees and lines down everywhere. A trailer park in the town 3 miles north had homes that were rolled over like dice. A school bus was there to evacuate them.
I sat in traffic on I-55, parking lot like for 40 minutes. We moved maybe 100 feet. I executed a couple of very illegal maneuvers and got onto the service road to go home. No way i could have gotten to work even if I'd made it across the bridge: Central and Poplar were impassable (trees and powerlines in the road), and the power was out at work.
Went home, and went to bed when our power went out.
Jonner cooked eggs while I was sleeping. In a pan this time as opposed to tupperware.
And my dad is coming day agfter tomorrow. AUGH!
AUGH!
Must clean, must organize! Must shampoo and fumigate!
Must burn down house and move!
AUGH!

We had heavy t-storms up here too, though I don't think there was that kind of damage. A lot of booming thunder and shaking walls, though. The sheep were very glad to be snuggled in their basket.
