I was bitching around last night about "All these historical AU's, I do all this research for one Verra-be-damned story, why am I such a masochist? Think I could get a Han/Luke for Irene out of Rome as well as that Spock/McCoy?"
So I pondered it a bit, then went to bed. Unfortunately, I still have not watched my copy of Making Love which arrived yesterday! (Squeee!)
This morning, driving in, I pondered my options: Legionnaire rescues slave boy, household guard falls for senator's son, Senator's son buys gladiator, etc, etc, cliche, cliche, cliche.
Then it hit me: Pygmilion. So, Janus is busily stroking the marble from which he will bring forth a statue of Apollo for the temple. Shuie, his freedman Mongol is seeing to the house. And I suspect Apollo himself has something in mind for the sculptor and his rock...
I really should be working on the Spock/McCoy.
Also a 50 word flashfic from Sith Chicks, starting with the words "Did you say Naked?"
Unwelcome Surprise
"Did you say Naked?"
"Naked."
"You sure?"
"Quite."
"When? Where?"
"Roof garden, ten minutes ago."
Obi-Wan sprinted the stairs, skidding into the garden. Cloaking himself, he glided through the shadows, leaving hastily to find Bant.
“I’m gonna kill you. Yoda naked is pure trauma!”
“You expected Master Adi Gallia, maybe?”
Lots to do this weekend: writing, cleaning (lot of cleaning), sorting out garb for next weekend.
Must go to the bank on the way home and transfer money to checking to cover lawnmower purchase.
(Got my reel mower! Yay! It will arrive next Wed.)
