For her destruction of the North, for the destruction of unions and the middle class, for Bobby Sands and the hunger strikers, for the VAT on tampons, may she rot.

It was exhilarating to see a woman at the helm of a country. But as I grew older and learned about her policies, I loathed her for the same reasons I loathed Reagan: she shored up the wealthy and ground down the poor.

"You can take your British troops and march them
through Hell with your fife and your drum."

... And, apparently, nothing else happened in the world, today, according to all TV and radio in the UK. Ye gods, no one's going to shut up about her until the funeral's over, and that's not till next week.

No one before or since has done less to get women into politics...

Really? So all the men who opposed the Suffragettes are worse than her in the feminist department? I do find it amazing that Reagan got barely a meh announcement but Thatcher who was a woman gets this kind of vitriolic talk and nastiness.

Granted, I was celebrating Hugo Chavez's death in the same way.

I put Bobby Sands in the positive.

Motherfucker organizes and plans a major terrorist campaign, gets caught, goes to jail and then starves himself and he's a MARTYR - meanwhile the civilians that he murdered are just statistics.

I also put the Falkland Islands in the positive. And Argentina should definitely celebrate Thatcher way more than they celebrate that evil bitch Eva Peron.

Good Riddance.

Now she can roast on a spit in hell with her BFF Ronnie.

Also: Whoa, the stench of mansplaination is strong in this post. Pee-ew!

Hm well, I'll concede your point on the men who opposed the suffragette movement, however, her policies on housing, unions, manufacturing, taxation, immigration and transport have left us with a legacy we may never recover from.

Don't even get me started on privatisation.

I can't think of a single thing she did to help advance other women in politics, and the House of Commons is as much an Old Boys Club as it ever was.

Plus, and most importantly of all, she stole the milk out of my sticky little hands:0)
