Having the usual trouble with female characters.

In my world, women come in basically three types:
high iron bitches, plastic hypocrites (those who pretend to be nice) and too stupid to bother with.

So, if I'm writing interesting female characters, they tend to the first.
This is why a lot of my female characters tend to be on the difficult to have warm fuzzy feelings for.

Have been alerted to every woman in Hot Delta Nights falling into that cataegory.
Working to soften a couple of them up without dumping them into the "stupid" category.

This is why I don't write het, people!

I don't know your biological sex or gender, but why do you think you are letting female characters fall into these three types?

Actually you do know, but you're not connecting valarltd to Angelia Sparrow.

My fictional characters fall into those types because the real women I know fall into those types. I cannot recall meeting a genuinely nice woman. I grew up in a place where all women were "nice"--on pain of social ostracism--but there were always too many teeth behind every smile and a dagger waiting for your back the minute you turned it.

Nowadays, I prefer my bitchery open.

*pout* I've been told I'm very nice but we haven't really had much time to know each other in meatlife yet.

I've known a lot of deeply hurt women in my lifetime this might be way I have hurt in my stories but then also recovering.

You need a female clown, like maybe Dolly Parton. Helga is told she's nice too, when she isn't hiding like a squirrel up a tree trunk from the entire rest of the species. And I truly would not mind if millions were to drop dead in areas with spotty media coverage. But if I meet a human face to face long enough, i'll cave and be nurturing.
