valarltdHoly crap, I may have done it! Hard Reboot probably needs another going over before I send it in, but I think it's complete at 83020 words. The big escape got significantly pared down.
Is it still deus (or dea) ex machina if you have established that the dea in question is actively looking for them and has just triangulated their position? Or as Opus the Penguin said, in Night of the Mary Kaye Commandos: "Rescued from sadists by terrorists. It's like a bad movie of the week."
