Writing sociopaths + listening to political talk=headdesk

I have been writing too many sociopaths lately.

I was listening to Sirius Left this morning and it's all about Wisconsin (with a side into Michelle Obama's plate of ribs).

My first thought was "send bounty hunters to retrieve the Senators...or at least their heads."
My second was "display the heads prominently in the capitol, and tell the protestors that they must clear out or be shot. Then shoot."
My third thought is "I'm writing too many powerful sociopaths who are above the law."
My fourth is "when I get paid, I'm buying pizza for the protestors."

I'll talk about the ribs.

Did you hear about the ADA who tweeted live ammo should be used on protestors? It's not your writing; the world has gone around the bend.

I'm done, you know. Somehow I've reached that point where my brain says, "Enough!" The connections between everything that's happening and the news each day - let's investigate miscarriages, let's legalize killing abortion providers, let's do away with child labor laws -- side by side with middle eastern chaos and now the union riots-to-be here, when what unites Tunesia and Wisconsin is MORE than the fact that most people can't find them on a map -- I am legitimately scared to death that my brain can't take any more and I can not tell what is real and what is my paranoia projected on the world screen. I don't know what else to do besides say "Screw worrying about whether this is crazy or not" and going into survivalist mode; gas prices alone are going to make the difference between making it or not for my family and I can't even tell if this is hysteria.

I know you've been contemplating stuff like this for longer than I have; if my perspective is off, please let me know. And if it's not, well, I'll be building the bunkers.

We're having a large dose of Stupid as the newly elected folks feel out their limits.

I don't think survivalist mode is crazy. We're going to see $4/gallon gas until about Sept 2012. Then there will be a move to lower it before the election.

Plant a BIG garden this year. Get in on a feeder calf or pig if you can and if you have freezer space. Hamburger is running $2.70/lb now and will only be going up.

It's all real, because no matter how paranoid you get, it's never enough to keep up.

I'll just say this. By recognizing all the things above that you posted that makes you saner than most.

So yes you should probably stock up on non-perishables and build solid wood shutters with hidden steel backing for your windows.

I wish I thought better of the situation but from what I can see it's going to get worse before it gets better.

We're all in for a wild ride... :-(

That reminds me that we need to get a freezer and fire up the ginormous canner this year.
