I'm 5'11".

I have arthritis in every major joint of my body.
I'll feel better under 200 lbs. Hell, I'll probably feel better at 250.

At least you're doing it the right way. I flew to the mainland and got cut. Painful, but effective.

*grabs the pompoms and starts cheering for you*

You might care to include the ankle measurement, as this area too will shrink as weight is lost... and it -is- one of the most important weight-bearing parts of the body.

My wife started about 6 months ago at 315 and is now down around 250, and she definitely reports feeling better.

We shall start together, you and I (and Norda, too) I'm at 227 and I'm only 5'2". This health thing has me scared to death, and changes must be made. I'll lean on you, if you'll lean on me.

Good luck!

Have you encountered http://caloriecount.about.com/? I've been having fun with it. It tracks your calorie intake against calories burned during the day.

Major problem with it is that it gets tiresome to enter everything you've eaten. You have to develop your personal tabs well in order to cut that down.

Good luck!
