Long old day
14 hours.
It looked like a nice, easy day. OK, 9 stops, but not much at any one stop. Shoulda been done by oh, 5ish.
Then my air compressor wouldn't compress. For those who know nothing of trucks, the brakes work on air pressure. Without enough pressure, the springs pop out and the brake shoes connect and the truck comes to a sudden stop, possibly leaving its axles a 1/3 mile back.
No, mine just wouldn't compress enough air to even get moving.
So a jurry rigged repair and a trip to the terminal and a loaner truck.
So I'm leaving West Memphis at 1 PM, when I should have been going through about 10 AM.
Then I go back, turn in the loaner, and get my fixed truck. They won't let me out because I'm not assigned to my own truck! Half an hour later, and 4 calls to Jackson MS, we're sorta kinda straighted out and I'm exhausted and it's 9 PM.
But, I had some odd inspiration bits.
And a stoned Furball who took just a little too much dramamine was an entertaining companion.
