I am amused

Ate too many devilled eggs this weekend. I love the things.
The shrimp dip is even better the second day.
Mudd has hit some interesting conclusions.
1) Even if homosexuality is a choice, we do protect certain lifestyle choices by law in this country, religion being a primary one.
2) Incrementalism on gay rights was the way to go. Before all the kerfuffle, most people didn't care one way or the other.
Which makes my main point: every majority just wishes the minority would quit bugging them! "Change is bad. Change is hard. Go away and leave us alone."
This is all going to end in federal courts, eventually.
As for where I am right now, not the best place. I don't like either candidate but any third party has no real power. I figure things will continue the way they have been, more religious if we get Bush, more taxes if we get Kerry. And I'll still be scraping with 3% raises and 33% cost increases on my health care. I know. I have it, millions don't, so I don't get to bitch.
So, I will do what I can.
I will give to charities I support: alzheimer's research, breast cancer research
I will make blankets for the kids at the Ronald McDonald house
I will recycle.
"We can do no great things; only small things with great love." Mother Theresa had it wrong. I am not doing these things out of love, but out of despair. They are the things that keep me from believing the world has gone completely to Hell, because if I can fix one thing, help one person, we're not there yet.
And NaNoWriMo looms ever closer. I may just write fanfic again this year. The original novel is on "percolate" until after the election.
I got some payback in on Mudd. He's forever inducing vid farr for me, so this time I heard a song and pointed him to it.
I maintain my zen in the time-honored way: by locking myself in my soundproofed sanctum and shouting obscenities until I feel better.
