Shopped til I dropped
Whew!
4 Thrift Stores, Wal-Mart and a grocery stop can wear a gal out.
On the plus side, I have all the serving pieces and decorations I need for the party. I also have food for the week and costume material. On the down side, I spent about $120, which includes food for 6 for a week.
My best find: a punchbowl for $5. Big beautiful thing with embossed fruit.
My overcharged item: sheets for $2.
My utter extravagance: a bought costume for $9.
My “I can justify this because they’ll wear it after Halloween”: $20 for 2 pr of speciality socks. The stuff from this place wears like iron.
My OMG moment: chocolate brown satin on the $1/yd table at Wal-mart.
Now, I need to clean before the exterminator gets here.
I have everything I need to make Bunny’s skirt. I’ll do her shirt from a T-shirt. I need to make Obi’s cloak. Dollface just needs a black sweatsuit and a tail. I’m making a chiton of the brown satin. I might actually conquer Halloween this year!
Also, Fairy’s mom saved me a trip. She had black food coloring she was never going to use again. She gave it to me with the caveat that it is bitter. Don't now how much we'll taste it in soy sauce and brown sugar.
