Squeeing Fangirl Mode

So I got my copy of Comic Book: The Movie.
I'm not a huge comic fan, but i know how passionate they get. And I am a huge fan of fandom itself. This is gorgeous. Passionate, funny, accurate. And half the time the meta is as funny as the movie itself.

I haven't watched it all yet, but some of the highlights are behind the spoiler cut.

Bill Mumy in an earring. Oh my.

Don Swan identifying as being from "Reeseville."

"I can't control the fanboy. It's like lycanthropy!"

Mom and dad with little one who has pooped out (his lightsaber long relinquished to mom's bag). He quits walking and just has them drag him to the next panel.

"Move along, son." I had to stop, rewind and mop the coke off the monitor. Yes, those three old guys at the table are who I thought they were. (At least 2 of them were. I couldn't identify #3, but good grief Peter Mayhew grew his hair long.)

I loved this movie too. I posted a review at my journal if you want to see it. My favorite parts have to be with the little boy. That is really their son!

Yes, the three were the guys who played Darth Vader (body, not voice), Chewbacca, and Boba Fett.

I'm so glad you got a copy -- and that you like it! I've been meaning to do more fangirl squeeage over it myself and haven't had time (though I've done a fair chunk of squeeing over on the official comicbookthemovie site).

It was Prowse I did the spit-take for. The horrible part: I recognized him by his nose. He's much greyer than when he did "Hitchiker's guide to the Galaxy" and Clockwork Orange.

And i got Mayhew. So it was Jeremy Bulloch sitting there too? I thought so. i knew it wasn't Anthony Daniels.

I haven't seen the whole movie yet. I basically stopped it at the "I can't control the fanboy, it's like lycanthropy."

Bunny's watching it with me. I'm telling her MWC is much more on the female side, and not nearly as colorful. I love the line about "Fellini's Satyricon in Spandex."

I'm so getting the joke. When i crack up during the credits, (at the credits and not at my daughter doing a Staff of Ra routine during the sound check) It's usually a good sign.

You laughed at the credits? OK, you've got me there. What was funny about the credits?

Oh, yeah! I forgot. I laughed at that too. :)
