State of the Sooky

Tired.

I got up, and accomplished a bit and then went to the doctor around noon.
Scabies.
I have scabies again.

Then a trip to the bank, a late lunch, and a traffic jam (8 mph for 8 miles, took me an hour to get from the river to Walgreens, a 10 minute drive), a long, slow line at Walgreens for the permethrin cream, the McDonald's drive-thru because [livejournal.com profile] gabrielbelthir needed dinner and is having medical issues of zir own. And even a line at Dollar Tree where I got a soda to wash down what started as 3 naproxin and ended up being 2 vicodin. It was a 2 vicodin day and I STILL hurt.

On top of it all, I managed to miss a conference call about a wedding I am co-officiating in about 3 weeks.

Then a trip to Wal-Mart, where there were 3 registers open and 40 people checking out. I am not exaggerating. The lines went clear back into Sportswear. I needed pillows and lice shampoo.

So, tonight was stripping all the beds, spraying them with permethrin and remaking them with clean sheets.
Then everyone got a shower, with headlice shampoo used as body wash.
Kinda of fun, getting to soap Mudd up. But chilly in that we hand to stand around and let the soap work.
And then a full-body rubdown with the cream, and off to bed for him in clean sheets.

I sprayed all the chairs and am not yet sleepy. Tired, but not sleepy. Am rehydrating.

Have you tried buying those covers that go over mattresses? I have no clue how effect they are against lice but if they fight bed bugs then maybe?

Hate stores with a lack of registers open. One time hubby and I had done all of our grocery shopping only to find that 1 lane was open. Waited 10-20 minutes w/o moving then we abandoned the cart, groceries and all.

Scabies are mites. The Permethrin in lice shampoo is the same as what the dr. prescribes in a cream.

We have a king sized bed, a mattress cover is prohibitive. But we sprayed everything and I will hit it again tonight. And I;m washing EVERYTHING. My washer has been running nonstop all day.
