Packed the kidlets off to school. Dollface exceedingly disgruntled that she was not allowed to stay in the kindergarten class with Jonner. She didn't want to go to pre-school. She's DONE preschool, and wants to go to school, with a hornycorn backpak and a Harry Potter lunchbox with a sandwich cookie, fruit and chips.

Next year is only gonna be worse. She doesn't head to Kindergarten til Fall 2005.

Wrote my AAA fest story. "Vader's new inamorato has a mask fetish." and it had to incorporate the words "fester, leviathan, djibouti." The first two were easy. The last was a pain. I hereby promise to look up words before I submit them to fest challenges.
(Guilty, both the challenge and the words were mine)

Cleaned a little.

Need to call Ford dealership about car.

Why don't you let your kids skip a few grades?

Our district doesn't allow it. And 3 is not old enough for kindergarten. I'm not sure she'll be ready at 4 either.

Well. She can skip second grade. That's one of the most useless grades there is. At least 2 or 3 of my friends skipped 2nd grade, and I should have as well -- except my mother decided I wasn't smart enough. *fumes silently*

My folks decided not to let me skip for social reasons. The counselor strongly advised the skipping, but a friend of the family had had such grief when her daughter skipped, she talked mom into keeping me back.

Which came out to be utter nonsense. All my friends were 1 to 2 grades ahead of me.
