Zine Hell...But I'm approaching it, I CAN FEEL IT in my bones. Consider this:
Project: Yaoi-con mag Size: 200 pages, letter size, printed with color cover (real printing, not copy shop do-it-yourself Stories by 16 authors (beta and editing required) Art: 60? by 20 Artists Deadline 30th August 2003 Problems: Me german, they american. Its good that no one expects the head- editor to be diplomatic. I can't help it, it's a national trait. ;-) No letter sized paper in Europe, none at all. I need to import paper from the US to even make a tryout print. But why then are they promoting inkjet printers with "oh, and of course it can print on letter sized paper" when you can't buy it anywhere in Europe?? And yes, I tried Staples.com but they don't send paper overseas. Plus our Printer is located in the US. I won't be there to oversee the actual printing. How can I look my guys from a href="http://www.yaoicon.com">Yaoi-con ever in the eyes again if I fail to produce a pretty mag? this baby will cost money to print, lots of it. Problem: I am a perfectionist. Damn. Language: Would be lost without the best editor in the world, Mycean. But can she stand the strain much longer? Am shamelessly addicting her to my MAS-Zine. Oh and the printer, I just know he'll write me some tech gibberish which I can't translate. Nightmares. Time zones: Hate them. I sleep -- my authors are awake and vice versa. Artists: the slowest artists on this planet are working for us, with some notable exceptions. Go check wonder-woman P.L.Nunn www.bishonenworks.com (http://www.bishonenworks.com) And I still haven't mastered the art of make an official pre-deadline and sticking to it as if it were the real one. I always tell them the real deadline which they of course then miss. Real Life: Tax, tax, tax. why now?? I'm not giving up my laptop, no I'm not. A (illegal) bordello moved to the flat under mine. Landlord says he can't throw them out, needs evidence first. A hundred men a day going in and out not evidence enough for him? what about my beauty sleep?
