Announcement

My oldest child, Bun, has just announced her engagement.

She's marrying her boyfriend Steve sometime next fall. It has to be the church wedding, white dress and all, because his family is very conservative, Christian republican.

OTOH, she wants me to do a double path labyrinth handfasting for them in the spring. WHEE!

Gods I'm old. I feel old, anyway.
And I was younger than she was when I got engaged. She's been 20 for 6 months. Mudd made it official on my 20th birthday.
(Better than my mom who got married ON her 20th birthday)

Wow. Out side of the family leanings, what do you think of the guy?

Other than the fact he's 2 years younger than me and a former marine, I'm cool. He's funny, smart and geeky.

Sending you lots of strength & her lots of luck with the conservative in-laws. Have they met you yet?

no.
They probably won't until the wedding.

I look forward to a post on the double path labyrinth handfasting. Seriously, I'm curious what that is, how it is accomplished and what it means.

We set a double pathed labyrnth, with 2 ways to the center. They acquire attendants and friends along their path.

He has to face both her brothers and her father who challenge him.

Once they meet in the center, there are many words spoken in the name of Hera and Frigga and Epona, Isis, Inanna, Ishtar and St Monica.

Mazel-tov!

Love the idea of a double-path labyrinth wedding. Mine was a single-path labyrinth, because it was already built on the premises.
