Monday

I got very little done.

Some Wii Fit time,
2 loads of laundry
my allergy shot
cleaned the fridge
cooked dinner
kids made muffins
sent out a story for Circlet's Pirate anth
found out there's no way readers will go for poly
finished reading a book, read some more on Zombiality
wrote some on the next cyberpunk piece for AQ

And I put on a pair of size 22 jeans I bought that were too small, as in 3" gap between the sides of it.
Fastened and zipped standing up, baby!

Really? Because menages are still pretty damn popular.

And if that list is your idea of not getting much done, I'd hate to see you on a productive day! ;)

It's not a menage, exactly.
He has a wife and a male lover.
Wife is free to take other lovers, as long as she only gets pregnant by him. (he does not love his wife)
Lover is not into women, and is free to sleep with anyone else.

And m/m readers don't want girl cooties.
and setting a formerly m/m relationship up into an mmf menage implies he can't be happy only with a man.

A productive day would have accomplished a lot more.

Yeah, that's the same shit I got with my first menage series. But that first book of mine's still sold better than anything else I've written since.

All I did today was exercise and go grocery shopping. Compared to you, I feel like a world-class slacker! :)

I have to also express a WTF at readers not going for poly. There are quite a number of people in my circle who would love to see poly romance novels... which is why I'm releasing this one this year (and why Storm Moon Press has a call out for such manuscripts).

Not according to my editor. It's cheating. So, no go. Happy ending=monogamy with rainbow hugs and puppies.

*sigh*

I figure if everyone's breathing and still in the relationship it's a happy ending. Then again, i read books with 100% fatality rates.

I would have to heartily disagree, since I am not cheating on my husband by having my boyfriend. :) Oi. And yet, these are the same sort of people who encourage menage submissions. *shakes head* I mean, what's the difference?

Readers eat up poly! A number of the top sellers at All Romance eBooks are and have been poly. Siren publishing has an entire line of poly. I wrote and sold a poly (Dominion) to Loose Id that did pretty well.

Nope. M/m readers don't want girl cooties, and it negates the happy ending and and and...

But I don't know. I will watch and wait. This may go re-issue again.

Loose-Id never seems to get me.

Don't pitch it to m/m readers. Pitch it as a poly to readers of that type of story. It's a whole different market with a different bunch of readers.

Loose Id wants loads of sex, so if you don't have that, then they won't want it.

Try Siren. Like I said, they have an all poly line and they upload at All Romance eBooks where a lot of their polys get onto the top 10 list these days.

Failing that, I dunno, there's always this place called Shadowfire Press where an HEA isn't required so long as the ending makes sense.
