Shaking my head

I will never cease to be amazed that my trainers are surprised to find out I am liberal and feminist.

D'UH.  The whole "doing a man's job for a man's pay" thing didn't clue you?  What about the "I'm the trucker, my husband's the schoolteacher" scene?

My grandmother drove a coal truck during the War.
My mother could not possibly have DREAMED of driving a truck until now.
Me, I took my tests and got the job.  Of the 3 million truckers in this country, only about 200,000 are women.

If I were conservative, I would still be popping out babies, staying at home and wearing floral dresses and hating everything that makes me unique because it gets in the way of being a good wife, a good mother and a good Christian.  (Please to be noting the STILL in that sentence.  Not saying all Conservatives or all Christians do this.  But the "right-thinking" ones do.)  I'd still be wondering why church bored me, while Bible studies didn't uplift me, and why being morally superior wasn't as satisfying as it should be.
