“You’re tense, B. The kids have got you all tied in knots.” Faith’s hands worked over Buffy’s shoulders, just hard enough to untie the knots.

“They’re going to die. All of them. It will be my fault.” Buffy stretched under Faith’s touch, letting her work.

“It’s nobody’s fault. It’s the job description.”

“I know. They just won’t learn!”

“Now you sound like the G-man.” Faith’s laugh was different now, uncomplicated.

“He’s contagious.”

Another laugh, and Faith stroked Buffy’s face. A soft kiss was met with greedy need.

“That’s not in the job description.”
